Healthy Liverpool would love to have you on board!
NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) works on behalf of everyone who lives in Liverpool and patients registered with our members - Liverpool GPs. We are responsible for improving health and planning health services across the city, working with our NSH hospitals, Trusts, other care providers, the council, charities, voluntary groups, patients and communities.
We are leading a Healthy Liverpool Programme to transform health in our city. We need to involve people from all walks of life in this to make sure we get it right. What you think, your experiences of healthcare, your ideas for what does and doesn’t work to keep people healthy are massively important. We want to make sure the decisions we take are shaped by the people we serve. So we’re inviting volunteers to get involved.
Whether you have 10 minutes spare or would like to work with us in more depth on a subject close to your heart – we want to hear from you and would like to find out how we can work together to create a Healthy Liverpool.
If you are interested in finding out more, come along to one of our CCG Volunteer Welcome Sessions...
- The next welome / induction session will be held on Tuesday 21st March 10.00am - 12.30pm.
These take place at the CCG building on Renshaw Street. To reserve a place please contact Eluned Hughes on 0151 237 3975 or email Participation@volunteercentreliverpool.org.uk
How can I get involved?
These are the current volunteering roles available with NHS Liverpool CCG;
CCG Health Information reviewer volunteer
Volunteers will read over health promotion leaflets and materials that Liverpool CCG are developing and which will be used to provide patients and the public with health information.
Reading over the information and giving us your feedback and comments - is the information provided in a way that is accessible and user friendly, is it informative?
It's really important that we gather this feedback from patients and members of the public to make sure that information is being presented in the right way before we print and distribute it.
Volunteers will receive patient information leaflets or other documents by e-mail or if you don't have an email address then through the post.
We will provide you with a form to complete each time and you return this to us with your comments. If you are sent things in the post we will give you a freepost envelope to reply so it doesn't cost you anything.
You will usually be required, at minimum, once a month. Upon receiving information, we will aim to give volunteers 2 weeks to comment on and return their replies. From time to time we may require your feedback sooner. But this will be dependent on the amount of materials requiring proof reading and how quickly we need to finalise and print materials.
The role is flexible - you may be required to attend an occassional meeting but you can do the majority of your volunteering at home/via email or post.
Community Engagement volunteer (Liverpool in general) - VCL 940
The Community Engagement Volunteer will assist the Engagement Team with delivering a variety of community engagement activities, designed to get people talking about health services, thinking about what their experiences have been and what they want from local services.
This role will also give volunteers the opportunity to get involved in research activities including conducting questionnaires, gathering feedback on patient opinion and engaging in conversation with patients and the public.
