                       Help Needed at St Johns - Santa Dash Collection Point


Saturday 18th and 25th November



Everyone taking part in the Santa Dash has to collect their Santa Suit beforehand. We have an opportunity to attend on some of the busiest collection days to talk to people coming to get their suits about Claire House and raising some sponsorship for us through running in the Santa Dash. We will chat to people coming in about this and give them a Claire House Sponsorship Form.



Unit Upstairs in St Johns Shopping Centre, Liverpool City Centre.



12pm – 4pm approx. (if it’s getting quieter or you need to be somewhere, please don’t feel like you have to stay until 4pm)

Every Thurs/Fri - Sainsburys Castle Street Liverpool

Our partnership with Sainsbury’s Castle Street is continuing and so if you can pop along on a Thursday or Friday for a couple of hours to collect donation during the busy lunchtime trade and then tootle off for some retail therapy! Times 11-2pm.


Sunday 3rd December - Santa Dash Liverpool

Finish line duties, 8am-2pm


Sunday 10th December - Bill Smith Toy Run 

Serving refreshments to the bikers.

               Fundraising Volunteer Opportunities with the Whitechapel Centre 

Christmas Elves are needed at The Whitechapel Centre on Langsdale Street (L3), Belvidere Family Hostel (L8) and our offices on Fox Street (L3).

Christmas Elves do not need to go through our full volunteer training but are asked to attend a briefing session. We have a number of dates confirmed, venue will be at The Whitechapel Centre or nearby. 

  • Wednedsay 22nd November 4pm - 6pm
  • Saturday 9th December 2pm - 4pm
  • Wednesday 13th December 4pm - 6pm 


Must be able to work at least one 3 hour shift, ideally: 10am-1pm or 1pm–4pm (weekdays and weekends)

 The volunteers will:

  • Receive donations from members of the public
  • Record donors details 
  • Sort donations
  • Manage and maintain stock levels of appropriate items at our open access centre
  • Distribute donations to our clients in the centre and to other venues 
  • Vehicle owners could help by distributing items to our various venues around the city

Liverpool ONE

As part of this year’s Christmas celebrations we have been given the opportunity to collect money whilst the music plays.

This year we are looking for volunteers to help out on the following days:

  • Thursday 30th November – 10.30 till 2.30
  • Friday 1st December - 10.30 till 2.30
  • Saturday 2nd December - 10.30 till 2.30



Empire Theatre

We have been given the opportunity to hold a bucket collection at the Liverpool Empire from 6th-8th December after Crazy for You.

We are looking for 4 volunteers (per shift) to donate an hour of their time at the end of the show to collect money.

We are looking for volunteers to help out at the following shifts:

  • Wednesday 6th December. Matinee – 4.45 till 5.45 or evening 9.45 till 10.45
  • Thursday 7th December. Matinee – 4.45 till 5.45 or evening 9.45 till 10.45
  • Friday 8th December. Evening 9.45 till 10.45






                 Stocking up for Christmas - Tesco Superstore Woolton Village


South Liverpool Foodbank's aim is to give out emergency packs of nutritionally balanced food to people in South Liverpool who have been identified as experiencing a crisis situation. 

This will take place at Tesco Superstore Woolton Village on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays.


The role will involve:

1) All 3 days at the store: asking shoppers to consider buying an extra item for the foodbank, receiving donations with thanks, labelling donations with their expiry dates and boxing up donations.

2) Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd: Helping our warehouse team further sort, box and weigh donations.

                                      Fareshare Christmas Food Collection


Volunteer at the UK's largest food drive to help feed people in need this winter.

We need volunteers to help us collect food donations from customers for a few hours at their local store.

                        Young People's Residential Activity Volunteer - RNIB


RNIB are running residential Activity Programmes in August and October for young people aged 14-17 with sight loss. You will be needed for 72 hours per event which will take place in Cumbria. Must be over 18 years old.


What will you be doing?

Providing support in running activities, offering guidance with activities, supporting ctivities such as climbing, canoeing, wildlife walks, bushcraft, hiking and camping. Help young people to gain the John Muir Award.


What skills are needed?

Enthusiasm, confidence and patience

Understanding of high standard of safety


What support will be given?

Induction, understanding sight loss pack, expenses and training as appropriate

                                              ACT Youth Project


Short term volunteering supporting vulnerable migrants in Greece or Italy.

Merseyside Expanding Horizon are looking to recruit 15 young people ( 18+) who are not in education, employment or training and are interested in intercultural issues to join either a 2 or six month project  ( 5 volunteers at a time from June 2017 to August 2018.) in the field of migration in Italy or Greece.

This Erasmus funded project aims to involve volunteers from France, UK and Belgium, as well as Greece and Italy supporting vulnerable migrants.

You will be provided with, flights, insurance,accomodation, food local transport and pocket money as well as being trained in:

Intercultural Communication

Fundemental Rights of Migrants

Security, Health and Safety

Reception and intergration of migrants in Greece / Italy.
