                     Young People's Residential Activity Volunteer - RNIB

 

RNIB are running residential Activity Programmes in August and October for young people aged 14-17 with sight loss. You will be needed for 72 hours per event which will take place in Cumbria. Must be over 18 years old.

 

What will you be doing?

Providing support in running activities, offering guidance with activities, supporting ctivities such as climbing, canoeing, wildlife walks, bushcraft, hiking and camping. Help young people to gain the John Muir Award.

 

What skills are needed?

Enthusiasm, confidence and patience

Understanding of high standard of safety

 

What support will be given?

Induction, understanding sight loss pack, expenses and training as appropriate

Volunteer with Claire House at Womens Running Liverpool on Sunday 16th July 2017!

 

Claire House are looking for volunteers to help out with the Womens Running Liverpool (Sefton Park) on Sunday 16th July 2017.

Looking for volunteers to help with the following tasks from 8:30am-12:30pm:

  • On course marshals
  • Finish Line Duties – handing out water, medals, tee shirts and goody bags
  • Drinks stations – handing out bottles of water to thirsty runners

Sunday 2nd July - Liverpool/Chester Bike Ride

Start and finish line duties. Giving out medals and manning the water station. 8:00am to 2:00pm

 

Saturday 8th July - Hilton Around the World - Liverpool City Centre

Teams will be spinning on static bikes to cycle Around the World. Need volunteers to help with the Spartacus Dart Board, Tombola, Raffles and Bucket Collection. Will be food and champagne afterwards. 9:30am - 4:00pm

 

Saturday 15th July - Festival of Firsts - Parade Day, Hoylake

Looking after the Claire House stall, tombola, dress up as a Claire Bear and various other activities.

 

Sunday 16th July - Womens Running 10k, 5k and Family Mile

Help with the finish line duties and water station. 8:00am to 2:00pm

 

Wednesday 19th July - Festival of Firsts - Kabantu, United Reformed Church Meols

Serve refreshments 6:30pm - 10:00pm

 

Saturday 22nd July - Festival of Firsts - Summer Craft Fair, West Kirby

Claire House stall and bucket collection

 

Saturday 23d September - Splash Dash Liverpool

Help with start/finish line duties, merchandise sale, paint station managers.

 

Sunday 8th October - Chester Marathon

      Volunteer at the Help the Heroes National Collection Weekend 1-2 July 2017

 

Volunteer for Help the Heroes at their Asda Collection 1-2 July and help to raise money for the wounded, sick and injured.

Whether you can help for a couple of hours or the whole weekend, they would love to hear from you.

                 Volunteer at the great NSPCC Bike event this Sunday 11th June

 

600 cyclists are riding from Manchester to Croxteth Hall to raise funds for the Liverpool NSPCC project

NSPCC are looking for volunteers to cheer 600 bike riders as they  cross the finish and hand out certificates.

You will be needed from 10.30am till 2.30pm  at Croxtethe Hall You will be provided with a T-shirt, and given a short induction on the day

Crisis Merseyside are looking for a volunteer to support their members in putting together a magazine which is produced four times a year

This is short term opportunity from 26th June until 14 July

Tasks would include:

Supporting the members to meet the print deadline

Gathering articles for submission

Editing the final edition of the magazine

Putting together the final version using Microsoft Publisher and promoting the magazine sessions to members.

Ideally you will have good graphic design skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Publisher.

                                     ACT Youth Project

Short term volunteering supporting vulnerable migrants in Greece or Italy.

Merseyside Expanding Horizon are looking to recruit 15  young people ( 18+) who are not in education, employment or training and are interested in intercultural issues to join either a 2 or six month project  ( 5 volunteers at a time from June 2017 to August 2018.) in the field of migration in Italy or Greece.

This Erasmus funded project aims to involve volunteers from France, UK and Belgium, as well as Greece and Italy supporting vulnerable migrants.

You will be provided with, flights, insurance,accomodation, food local transport and pocket money as well as being trained in:

Intercultural Communication

Fundemental Rights of Migrants

Security, Health and Safety

Reception and intergration of migrants in Greece / Italy.
