                    Whitechapel Centre Fundraising - Collection Can Champion

  Fundraising is a vital part of our work and underpins all that we do. Collection cans placed in locations around Merseyside can generate income when we need it most and we’d like to expand this aspect of our fundraising activity.

This role can be done in your own time in an area of Merseyside that suits you. All you have to do is:
  • find places that will host collection cans;
  • put the cans in place with relevant publicity material – such as our telephone line cards;
  • collect and replace the cans when they get full;
  • give the full cans into The Whitechapel Centre to be counted.
We are looking for collection can champions who have:
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • An understanding of The Whitechapel Centre and the work that we do (we can help you with this!)
  • Enthusiasm
  • Good organisational skills
  • Initiative

If you are interested in becoming a fundraising collection can champion then you can find the application form here: https://www.whitechapelcentre.co.uk/volunteer-application-form.htm

 Queenscourt Hospice Fundraising Event Volunteers

Queenscourt Hospice provides support for the people of West Lancs, Southport and Formby.

We help to do this both in the Hospice and at Home through our In-Patient unit, Queenscourt Connect and Queenscourt at Home services.
They are looking for volunteers to help them raise funds for the hospice at various places.
What will I be doing?
Tasks at each event will vary from carrying a collection bucket or tin, selling raffle tickets or merchandise, looking after a stall and handing out flyers and leaflets.
You will be the ‘face’ of the Charity locally and will be able to raise awareness of the work Queenscourt Hospice carries out and how the public can support us.

Join the Marine Conservation Society's  - GREAT BRITISH BEACH CLEAN

14 - 17 SEPTEMBER

The Great British Beach Clean is our annual event on the 3rd weekend of September. It's the biggest beach clean and survey in the UK and provides a valuable insight into the litter problems our seas and oceans are facing

We've been recording this information for over 25 years and lobbying governments to stop items getting there in the first place. With your help we've made great progress in helping to bring in a plastic bag charge, stopping microplastics in cosmetics being washed down the plug hole and getting the message out that wetwipes shouldn't be flushed or contain plastic.

With support from Waitrose and all of our fantastic volunteers, we are continuing to put pressure on Westminster and the devolved parliaments to make real changes. Whether you've been to a beach clean before, or if you want to start this year, simply sign up for the event/s you'd like to attend and look out for emails from the beach clean event organiser.

Almost 7,000 people took part in the Great British Beach Clean in September 2017 and we want to make 2018 even better. Together, we removed 255,209 pieces of litter from 339 beaches.
